We have gained considerable experience in the field of mechanical power transmission and in particular in the design and manufacture of test benches for gearboxes, toothed wheels, bearings, belts, chains, couplings and other mechanical components. We support the customer in all phases from the definition of the specification to the operation of the test system. We also carry out reconditioning of "old" test systems. |

Mechanical testingWe carry out testing activities (experimental test campaigns) both using standard testing machines (hydraulic and resonance) and using our own specially designed and manufactured test benches.
We are able to carry out tests aimed at establishing the static and fatigue strength of gears, bearings and other components or systems with respect to classic damage mechanisms such as traction, bending, pitting, micropitting, scuffing. We offer a complete service from defining the test requirements to the best use of the test results. |
We design and manufacture the gripping and conditioning systems "fixtures" that allow us to replicate the operating conditions of the component under test. Finally, we have instrumentation for chemical/metallographic analysis of materials (SEM microscope, optical microscope, 3D roughness testers, hardness testers).
Design and testingThanks to our team of engineers, we carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic design and testing. We use the main national and international standards (ISO, DIN, AGMA, BS) and the most modern CAD modelling software such as Siemens NX and FEM structural analysis software such as ANSYS. Finally, we have at our disposal rapid modelling and analysis tools specifically for the design and verification of mechanical power transmissions: SMT MASTA®, ANSOL TRANSMISSION® 3D. |

In-service measurements and instrumentationWe are able to measure in operation: deformations/tensions (strain gauge measurements), temperatures, pressures, flow rates, forces and moments, vibrations (accelerometer measurements), noise (phonometer measurements) and various other physical quantities. We carry out permanent or semi-permanent installations of sensors and data logging and monitoring devices. |
DAQ&C systemsWe design and manufacture data acquisition and control systems (DAQ & C). We offer complete hardware/software solutions with PC workstations, data acquisition systems, and on-board sensors. We mainly use National Instruments HW/SW products. We develop user friendly user interfaces (GUI) that allow a single operator to control the entire machine. |

Failure analysisWe provide consultancy services in the field of failure analysis. Using FEM modelling tools, microscope analysis (SEM and optical), dedicated mechanical testing and, above all, our own experience, we are able to identify the causes of premature failure of a component or mechanical system. We also support the customer by proposing appropriate design solutions/modifications. |
HMS diagnosticsWe develop diagnostic health monitoring systems (HMS). These are HW/SW systems that enable damage monitoring for mechanical transmission systems such as gearboxes and their elements, such as bearings. The systems are highly customised. Accelerometers are mainly used and "unconventional" mathematical algorithms and processing techniques are applied.
